On November 5, 2021, WIPO Standard ST.26 was approved. This Standard defines the nucleotide and amino acid sequence disclosures in a patent application required to be included in a sequence listing, the manner in which those disclosures are to be represented, and the Document Type Definition (DTD) for a sequence listing in XML (Extensible Markup Language), being established July 1, 2022 as the date of generalized transition to the Standard ST.26.
