If your business is retail, or if you regularly engage with consumers, then these changes apply to you as well. As of 1 July 2024, it will be necessary to update your Complaints Procedure (GTC) and General Terms and Conditions (GTC) and modify other processes you have set up in relation to the sale of goods and services to consumers.
Several changes will please retailers. For example, it will now be possible to handle a complaint for objective reasons even after the expiry of the previously mandatory period of 30 days. It will also be possible to reject the customer’s complaint even within the first 12 months of purchase of the goods without the need for an expert assessment. However, there will be many more changes.
