Jaroslav is the Managing Partner and one of the founders of RUŽIČKA AND PARTNERS law firm. In his almost forty-year practice, he has become one of the leading figures of the legal profession in Slovakia.
Jaroslav focuses mainly on real estate law and construction law. He has rich experience in corporate transactions and company acquisitions, infrastructure projects, as well as in advisory within public-private partnerships. Part of his focus is aimed at tangible and procedural administrative law, which he dealt with also in the field of law theory, university law education, and government legislation before setting up his private law practice. He provides advisory services to foreign investors who intend to enter Slovak or Czech market.
Jaroslav started his private legal practice in 1992, first as a commercial lawyer and later as a solicitor. Along with his commercial practice, he has also built a strong record of consulting and management services to various government and public authorities and professional organisations. In 1992, he served as a member of the Expert Committee of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic, responsible for judicial reform. Between 1993 and 1995, he served as a member of the Government Legislative Council and a representative of the government of the Slovak Republic in the establishment of the Slovak National Centre for Human Rights – UN programme in CEE, acting as its executive director in 1994 – 1995. In 1995 and 1996, Jaroslav worked as an advisor to the Deputy Chairman of the government of the Slovak Republic on special aspects of new legislation. Between 1993 and 1996 he was an external member of the Board of Directors of Istrobanka, a.s., Bratislava. He was the president of the Austro-Slovak Chamber of Commerce between 1998 and 2002 and has been its first deputy president since 2003.
Jaroslav is fluent in German, English, and Russian languages.
