Jane leads the Life Sciences Intellectual Property Team and has over 25 years of experience providing worldwide patent counseling in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Jane’s practice focuses on developing and implementing effective IP strategies, building strong patent portfolios, and facilitating commercialization of products, particularly antibody-based therapeutics, through all phases of development.

Jane’s experience includes:
- Providing strategic patent counseling including patent preparation, prosecution, freedom to operate evaluations, re-examinations, re-issues, inter partes reviews, and oppositions in a broad variety of technologies and discovery platforms, including immunotherapeutics, recombinant proteins, peptides, biomarkers, diagnostics, vaccines, stem cells, gene therapy and cell based assays.
- Developing and implementing effective IP strategies, including building strong patent portfolios to protect products from discovery through next generation.
- Conducting due diligence evaluations for collaborations, acquisitions, licensing, and financing transactions.
- Representing clients in private and public offerings, both in the United States and abroad.
- Advising clients in assessing the strength of intellectual property assets held by prospective candidates for investment.
- Preparing, prosecuting, and opining on patents in the fields of immunology, oncology, virology, neurology, and cell biology for clients ranging from start-up biotechnology companies to established pharmaceutical corporations.
