Senior Associate
Susana Raventós is a senior associate in Consortium Legal – Costa Rica. She has more than 15 years of experience in the finance and banking law sector, specializing in all types of credit transactions, project finance and regulatory advice. Throughout her career in the firm, Susana has acted as advisor to banks and other local, international and multilateral financial institutions, and has participated in the structuring and execution of several important and innovative local and international financing transactions, with different degrees of complexity and guarantee structures. Standing out more recently among them, is her work as local counsel to Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and Banco CMB (Costa Rica) S.A. as structuring agents in a dual transaction of issuance of local and international project bonds for a total of US $ 350,750,000, involving an international issuance under Rule 144A / Regulation S of the Securities Act of 1933 of the United States, and a local issuance under the Costa Rican securities public offer regulations, issued by Autopistas del Sol S.A., concessionaire of the Ruta 27 highway.
In addition, during her career Susana has worked in Allen & Overy in Madrid while coursing her LL.M. in International Legal Practice at I.E. Law School, and has been an international associate for Curtis Law Group, a law firm based in Irvine, California. She also worked for a semester during 2018 as an international visiting attorney at the offices of Holland & Knight in Miami, Florida, where she participated and advised in various highly complex cross-border financial and corporate transactions.

Work Highlights
- Hospital Cima Financing: Advisor to Global Bank Corporation (Panama), as lender in credit facilities granted to Hospital San José S.A. (owner of the Cima Hospital in Costa Rica) of US$40,000,000.00, for debt restructuring. The deal had challenging dynamics as the closing timeframe was very short and there were two different jurisdictions involved. The deal was successfully closed in May 2022.
- Fila de Mogote Financing: Advisor to Banco Davivienda (Costa Rica) S.A. as lender in credit facility granted to Fila de Mogote (owner of one of the largest energy-producing wind farms in Costa Rica) of US$24,000,000.00, for debt restructuring. The financing was secured by all of the assets of the company, including the assignment of the Power Purchase Agreement, which gave a degree of complexity to the deal as such assignment had to be carefully negotiated with the Costa Rican Electricity Institute. The deal was successfully closed in May 2022.
- Fairfield Financing: Advisor to IDB Invest as lender in credit facility granted to Inversiones Hoteleras CH de Alajuela S.A. of US$7,500,000 for the building and development of a Marriott Fairfiled Hotel near the main Costa Rican airport in Alajuela. The deal was successfully closed in November 2021.
