On 15 March 2023 EFSA (the European Food Safety Authority) published the draft of the new scientific opinion on mineral oil hydrocarbons in food. Already in April 2022 the Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed (SCOPAFF) of the European Commission had published a report containing a joint declaration of the Member States which provides for the withdrawal or recall of products containing MOAH beyond certain limits .
