Vinson & Elkins advised Ellington Financial Inc., a real estate investment trust investing in a diverse array of financial assets including residential and commercial mortgage loans, in connection with its entry into a definitive agreement to acquire Great Ajax Corp., a real estate investment trust that invests primarily in residential mortgage loans and other assets, for a combination of stock and contingent cash consideration.
